Pictures gallery section design for my Blog template

I was searching for the right look and implementation technique for the pictures gallery section at the right side bar of my blog page template.

I was not sure what would be best way to accomplish the task. I checked GIF animation and also static image. I have a feeling that the CSS keyframe animation would be much better technique for this, but I did not want to start adding any more code before the launch of this version and decided to go with the static image for the moment.
